Adem Karmous: A Rising Star in Cinematography
Adem Karmous, a recent graduate of the Higher School of Arts and Multimedia (ISAMM), has already amassed a wealth of experience by collaborating on numerous projects with emerging filmmakers. In 2024 alone, he contributed to nine short films, including:

- Ceci est Ramla by Mariem Hamda
- Catharsis by Aziz Selmi and Beya Chikhi
- Heaviness by Dorra Sfar
- Way to Hell by Nabil Trabelsi
- Subject 59 by Yassine Gazzeh
- Tache by Maya Makhlouf
In these projects, Adem took on the roles of Director of Photography and Colorist, showcasing his versatile skills and keen eye for visual storytelling. His journey in cinema has led him to work with talented individuals like Aziz Ouslati and Hana Selmi, whom he thanks for their unwavering support in his cinematic adventures.
Parallel to his work in short films, Adem gained valuable experience in larger-scale productions through internships. He participated in the filming of Agora by Ala Eddine Slim, a film that won the Special Jury Prize at the Locarno Festival, as well as The Needle by Abdelhamid Bouchnak. His involvement in the television series Mouwia, produced by MBC Studios, provided him with insights into the demands of big productions.
Adem’s work has not gone unnoticed. He received accolades for Best Cinematography at the FIFAK and Cinemana festivals. Despite these recognitions, Adem remains passionately committed to the art of cinema. He is continually seeking new opportunities to collaborate with other creators and refine his craft. Eager for new challenges, he hopes to further explore and develop his work through exciting new projects.
