Dar El Khobz a project to honor the city of wheat “El Kef”
Dar El Khobz is a project designed and produced by the Museum Lab association, and supported by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
It is part of the overall heritage enhancement project of Museum Lab in Kef, set up in partnership with the Municipality of Kef, and supported mainly by the Drosos Foundation (2021-24).
Honoring the memory of a wheat country par excellence, the North-West of Tunisia. Dar El Khobz recall in the city of bread, the Kef, the main vocation of the region, that of ensuring food through its cereal wealth and protecting itself against hunger.
“In Kef, and everywhere else in Tunisia, it is women who preserve, perpetuate and try to transmit to the younger generations (of girls), a culinary, cultural and identity heritage, unfortunately today threatened with extinction, because it is intangible and intangible”.
