A building that looks like the “Lake Hotel” in Europe.
The “Lake Hotel” is known as one of the most important pillars of the Tunisian capital in terms of architecture, which distinguishes its different shape from the rest of the existing buildings.
The hotel, which has ten floors and more than four hundred rooms, was designed in the way of “Brutalist architecture”,This architectural style expanded in the 1950s to the mid 1970s.
The hotel was designed by Italian architect Raffaele Contigiani and It was officially opened in 1973, but it was closed in 2000, and then it remained the most beautiful and most attention-grabbing arcade of the city.
The attempts to demolish the hotel were completely rejected by many people, considering that it represents one of the pillars of modern Tunisian architecture and that it gives a better view of the capital.
It is also mentioned that there is a large building in the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo, which belongs to building of the The Electrical Management (Elektroprivreda), that was designed in 1978 by the Bosnian architect Ivan Štraus.
Unfortunately, the original architecture of the building was destroyed when the city of Sarajevo was under blockade and military siege in the early nineties.
